Ek maqbool suragh-rasa ka ek qissa

Bahut der se main apne aap mein jo tarjume ki khwaish hai use pabandi mein rakhne ki koshish ki lekin woh aaj phir ubhar gayi – aur ek aisi muhim mein jiska main kafi der se khayal kar raha tha. Maghribi adab ka yeh ek sabse maqbool kirdar hai, aur jahaan tak mujhe pata hai, iske qisse abhi tak Urdu mein nahi aaye…. chaliye, main hi koshish karta hoon. Ji haan, hazraat, is lafz par tawaaju chahunga … yeh mahz ek koshish hai, aur is mein lazim hai ke kamiyan hongi……

Lijiye, is suragh-rasa ki ek kahani, unke puraane dost ki zabaani…….

Mera iraada tha ki “Abbey Grange ka qissa” mere dost Sherlock Holmes ke woh aakhiri karnaama ho jo main logon ke saamne laaon. Iski wajeh yeh nahi thi ke qisson ke kami thi, kyunkar mere paas saikdon aise qisse hai jinke maine kabhi zikr nahi kiya, aur na hi iski wajeh is waahid shaksiyat aur unke bemissal tareeqon mein meri samaiyen bhi ghatti dilchaspi hai. Iski asli wajeh hai ke Holmes sahab ko yeh ab ziadah pasand nahi ke unke qisse shaya hoye. Jab tak voh apne kaam mein lage the, to unke safaltaoon ke bayaan unke kuch kaam ke the, lekin jab se woh aaram farmaya hai aur London chorh ke Sussex Downs mein apni taleem aur shahd ki makhion ko paalne mein lag gaye, maqbooliyat unhe ab napasand hai, aur unhe ne mujhe hidayat di hai ke unki khwaishen maani jaaye. Yeh sirf mere kehne par ke maine vaadah kiya tha ke “Doosre Dhabbe ka Qissa” us waqt par shaya hoga jab aisa karna maqool hoga, aur unhe samjhana ke yeh lamba silsila ek aise qisse se khatam hoye jo sab se bada bain-ul-awami maamla tha jo unke saamne aaya tha, ke woh maane ke is qissa ka ek suljha huya bayaan logon ke saamne aaye. Agar main apne bayan mein kuch batton mein ziadah gehrai mein na jaayun, aap sab samajh sakte hai ke is ke liye ek khaas wajeh hai.

Yeh huya, ke saal, aur ek dahaahi, jiska naam lena mumkin nahi, ke khizaan mein ek mangalvar ki subh ko hamaare Baker Street rihaish mein do Europaai maqbooliyat ke mehmaan aaye. Ek, robdar aur baaz-chashm aur koi nahi lekin mashoor Lord Bellinger, Britannia ke do baar Wazir-e-Aazam.  Doosre, saanvle aur khoobsurat-andaaz, umr mein ziadah nahi, aur badan aur aql ki har jamaaliyat se nawaaze huye the Right Honourable Trelawney Hope, Europaai Maamlon ke Wazir, aur mulk ke sab se ubharte siyasat-daan. Donon agal-bagal hamare kagazon se dhake sofa par baithe the, aur unke thake aur pareshan rukh se saaf zaahir tha ke koi bahut hi bada masaail tha jo unhe ham tak laaya tha. Wazir-e-Aazam ke haath unke chaatha ke haathi-daant handle par kasse huye the aur unka maayus aur bebas chehra kabhi Holmes par hota, kabhi mere jaanib. Europaai Wazir kabhi apni moochon ko kheenchta aur kabhi unki unglion apni ghadi par hoti.

“Jaise hi mujhe pata chala, Homes sahaab, jo aaj subah aath baje tha, maine Wazir-e-Aazam ko itlaa di. Unka khayaal tha ke ham aapke paas aaye”.

“Aapne police ko khabar ki hain?”

“Nahi, janaab.” Wazir-e-Aazam ne kaha us barjasta andaaz se, jiske liye woh mashoor the. “Na hi hamne aisa kiya hai, aur na hi aisa karna mumkin hai. Police ko khabar karna, ek tareeqe se awaam karna hai. Aur yeh ham hargiz nahi chahte.”

“Aisa kyun, janaab-e-aali?”

“Kyunke yeh dastavez aisi ahmiyat ka hai ke iska shaya hona asaani se – mere khayal se lazim hai – ek Europaai fasad cherh dega. Yeh kehna ghalat nahi hoga ke yeh jang ki wajeh ban jaaye. Agar yeh mumkin nahi ke yeh vapas khufiya tareeqe se mil jaaye, to behtar hai ke na haath aaye, kyunkar, jisne ise liya hai unka maqsad hai ke yeh awaam ke ilm mein aaye.”

“Main samajh gaya. Ab, Janab Trelawney Hope, baraye-karam bataye ke yeh dastavez kin halaat mein gayaab huya”.

Jaari rahega……
